Food and photography have always been close to my heart. I have studied photography in several photography courses and, of course, shooting a lot.
I wanted to develop my professional skills, combine my hobby and my passion; cooking and photography. The visuals of food, different themes, colors, shapes and structures are a great source of inspiration for me, and a beautifully styled portion on a plate is like a art piece! I enjoy it when, both in cooking and in photography, I get to unleash my creativity, challenge myself and immerse myself in the world of colors, flavors and shapes.
The end result was the food photos I styled and took at home. The project taught me that food photography is its own art form and how much time and consideration of different elements it requires.I grew hungry while doing it and I started thinking about food photography from a professional perspective. I got to Ateljee Mäntyniemi's photo studio to follow and assist the work of a food reporter and photographer. I also styled and photographed the food portions I designed myself for my cookbook. The journey has been interesting! I have learned and made mistakes, it has also been rewarding to notice my own development path and experience moments of success and insight!A Art Cookbook consists of 8 different colored menu sets with recipes, 32 stylized food photos and food-themed illustrations. Between the covers of the book, my passion and my professional know-how have been collected.
Here are my shots along the way.
